Cardinalate. First documented as bishop cardinalis of Albano in the Council of Rome of November 6, 963 (1); in that assembly, he took the side of Leo VIII and attacked Benedict V. He was one of the three cardinal bishops who consecrated Leo VIII on December 6, 963 (qui super Leonem orationem dederant); the other cardinals were Siccone, bishop of Ostia; and Benedetto of Porto. He was deprived of his cardinalitial dignity by Pope John XII, but it was later restored. Took part in the Council of Rome of February 26, 964. He subscribed a papal bull issued by Pope Benedict VII in 983 in favor of the monastery of Subiaco.
