While the web site will operate in all operating environments and all major web browsers, full functionality depends on viewers using Internet Explorer Version 5.1 or higher with Microsoft Web-Components enabled. The case is developed with Microsoft “Web-Objects” technology and includes advanced features like a confirmation yes/no toggle that indicates whether specific spreadsheet entries are correct or not.  In addition, the case uses Adobe pdf files, Microsoft Excel spreadsheet files; therefore, the user should have Excel and Adobe software installed on their computers to make full use of the case.

We acknowledge and thank the winners of the 2004 ATA/Deloitte Teaching Innovations Award who developed a web site that teaches students the writing skills they need to prepare tax research case briefs, file memos, and client letters.  We build on and link to their work by providing a comprehensive case study where students employ these skills as well as basic research, analytical and spreadsheet skills.
