This guide is designed to aid you in finding information about HOW to conduct business in an international context.  For information about international companies, organizations, and industries, see the FIU Library handout, International Business. INTERNET SITES:  In addition to the various sources within the FIU Libraries mentioned later, here are a couple of internet sites you might want to check out:

The International Business subject specialist at Atkins Library, UNC Charlotte has created a metalink called VIBES--Virtual International Business and Economic Sources--that has over 200 international business information sites.

The Michigan State University’s Center for International Business Education and Research has a site called Global Edge Research Desk.

The Rubicon Passport site has quick information on currency exchange, international holidays, time zones, embassies, airline, international airports, and international couriers.

What type of information do you need?

There are many sources of information about international business in this library.  Some of those sources talk about 1 country in detail; others talk about certain aspects of many countries.   Some sources talk about only countries in one region (i.e., Latin America), while others talk about every country in the world.  The Business Librarian suggests that you analyze your research topic for its parts, then decide which of the following you need for each part.  

It is very unlikely that you will find all of your information in one source.

This research guide is arranged into three sections:

II.        BIBLIOGRAPHY OF GENERAL SOURCES.

(A list of sources that cover many areas of international business-related information; see section I. for contents of each.)

(A list of sources within the library, generally arranged by the classifications in Section I, many with annotations.)
