EXPERIENCE:

July, 1984 - Present Business/Legal Research Specialist, Reference and Instructional Services Dept., Steven and Dorothea Green Library, Florida International University, Miami, FL.
Current responsibilities:  Answer general questions at the Reference Desk, respond to more specialized queries in business, law, and selected other fields as referred from colleagues or queried directly; teach research-oriented classes in the above fields and in use of RefWorks; request print and electronicresources in business and economics for Reference and General Collections; maintain liaison with faculty in the College of Business Administration and the Dept. of Economics; serve on committees in the Library and the University; participate in professional organizations; nbsp; Previously participated in maintenance of automated reference tools, including liaison with vendors and basic troubleshooting.  Also provided liaison and related library instruction to School of Hospitality Management, from 1984-1991 (and continued to instruct classes functioning on the University Park campus.)
Special projects:  Created "Business Information Center" website; co-chaired supervising committee to create faculty governance document; planned and supervised move of Reference collections to temporary location (March, 1997); planned and supervised move of Reference collections to permanent location (April, 1998); co-chaired taskforce to develop multimedia tutorial (1994-1995).
Committee activities (current):  Library:   Constitution Revision Task Force, Library Faculty Assembly (Nov., 2006 - )  Summary, previous committees:  Travel Committee (2007-2009); ; Search & Screen Committee for the Latin American and Caribbean Information Center Librarian (July, 2006 - June, 2007); University:  Library representative on Faculty Senate Library Committee (2006-2008); Parliamentarian, Library Faculty Assembly (2004-2006), co-chaired Library Faculty Governance Committee (2001-2004), chaired Staff Development Committee (1995-2001), served on Promotion Committee multiple times, numerous Search & Screen committees (and chaired one); chaired taskforce to evaluate effect of move of College of Business Administration to Bay Vista campus (1984).   Have served as the Library's member on Faculty Academic Policies Committee (2004-2006), Faculty Technology Committee (2000-2002 ), Undergraduate Council (1994-1996), Information Resource Management Taskforce (1988-1992), and Graduate Council (1986-1990).  Other:   Member, Business Subgroup of the Florida Center for Library Automation's Electronic Resources Subcommittee (formerly, Electronic Collections Committee) (1998-present).
