How to Give a Talk:
1. Be prepared!
2. As a general rule, each Powerpoint slide will be about one minute
of your talk.
3. Use simple visuals.
4. Speak up!
5. Write out your talk and practice it in advance.
6. Time your talk when you practice it!
7. Hold your head up when you speak.
8. Sound and act interested - if you're not, the audience won't be!
9. Write out and memorize your opening ("I am going to talk
about............") in case you freeze up - once you get going
you'll be fine.
10. Focus your talk - don't try to put to much information in it.
11. Always have a title page, introduction, overall outline, the talk itself,
and a final slide with conclusions or a summary.
12. Visualize yourself giving a relaxed, interesting talk.
13. Finally, relax! It will be all over in 15 minutes!
