Suggested Homework

Text: Calculus, Early Transcendentals - Ninth Edition, by Anton, Bivens and Davis,
The prerequisite for this course is MAC 1105 and MAC 1114 with a "C" or better. This includes a reasonable knowledge of algebraic skills and trig special angles,  identities and simplification.
Scientific Calculator Optional (no graphing calculators)….
Attendance is taken and expected. I expected all students to get to class on time. If you must miss a class, call a fellow classmate to see if any homework assignments have been made. They will NOT be accepted late. Habitually tardy students may be refused late admittance. Please turn off beepers and cell phone. Students are expected to behave appropriately and obey the rules of conduct at FIU (see student handbook). Extra credit will be given for attendance and promptness. There will be several extra credit hand-ins TBA.

Grading: There will be 4 tests and a required cumulative Final Exam (to be given on the date scheduled by the registrar) Each shall be 100 points for a possible grade total of 500 points. There are NO MAKE-UP exams. If you miss a test with an instructor excused absence, I will count the final exam as two grades. I reserve the right to add points to students who display outstanding class participation. (Grades will not be curved nor dropped)

Please Note: I do NOT “give” you your grade. You earn it. Please do NOT put me in the postion of “deciding your fate” by asking for a grade at end of the semester. The time to worry about your grade is NOW!

Incompletes are only available to students who are passing the class and miss the last week or two with an excused absence.
