Description: This course deals with the differential and integral
calculus of real valued multivariable functions.
The topics include:
Directional and partial derivatives, gradients, and their applications;
differential calculus of vector valued functions; multiple, iterated, line
and surface integrals.
Prerequisite: MAC 2312 or equivalent
Text: Howard Anton, Irl Bivens, Stephen Davis,
Calculus, Early Transcendentals, 9 th edition.

Chapters 11, 12, 13 , 14 and 15
Tests and quizzes:
There will be two midterms, worth 100 points each. The dates are
February 17 and April 07
There are no make-up midterms. A missed midterm exam can be waived
upon presentation of a valid, verifiable proof of emergency situation at
time of scheduled examination.
Final: A mandatory comprehensive, final exam will carry 150 points. The
date and time are Tuesday, 04/26/2011. 1200-1400, GC 285.
A score of 0 will be assigned for a missed final
examination. However, with a valid, verifiable proof of emergency
situation at the time of scheduled final examination, an individual
student may have his final examination rescheduled for the following
semester's week of finals. If rescheduling is granted, then an incomplete
grade will be assigned to the student.
Quizzes: Five (5) 15 minute-quizzes; Dates: 01/20, 02/03, 03/03,
03/24 and 04/21. Each is worth 10 points.
A score of 0 will be assigned for a missed quiz. Absolutely no
make-ups, no waivers will be granted for quizzes. This is our way of
enforcing an acceptable class attendance.
Grades: Grades will be assigned on the basis of 400 points.
