Teaching is touching life.

FIU’s SCEC is Chapter 822, a part of the national organization, Council for Exceptional Children. The local student chapter is also affiliated with the Florida Federation Council for Exceptional Children.

Student members volunteer time and talent working with local groups and organizations including Horses for the Handicapped, Special Olympics, Shake-a-Leg, Dance Marathon, Every Child Counts (Abaco Project), and our STEP tutoring program.

Student dues are $ 66.00 annually, and include national membership in CEC and subscriptions to the professional journals, “Exceptional Children” and “Teaching Exceptional Children.”
