Michelle Verdi, MSW, Professor

Michelle Verdi, received her MSW degree from the University of South Florida in 1993.  Was hired into the Pasco County school system as the first social worker in the first alternative school in the county, which housed 150 of the counties most challenging and at risk students.  Was awarded the "Rookie of the Year" award from the school and was nominated for the Pasco County "Sallie Mae First Year Teacher of the Year Award."  Moved to Miami in 1994 to attend the FIU School of Social Work Ph.D. program in Social Welfare, with an interest in juvenile delinquency.  Have acted as Integrative Field Seminar Instructor, Field Liaison, and Field Placement Coordinator since 1996 and have acted as Coordinator of Field Education since 1998.
