Welcome to the HDCI Lab at Florida International University
The Health Disparities and Cultural Identities (HDCI) Lab is housed in the Department of Psychology at Florida International University. Using interdisciplinary approaches, our research brings attention to the ways psychological and socio cultural factors affect health outcomes in diverse communities across the lifespan. We have examined such issues as HPV vaccination uptake, sexual violence, HIV/ AIDS, and sexual messaging in popular culture. The ultimate goal of our research is to contribute to the reduction of health disparities.
