Children’s Creative Learning Center Launches New Program and Activities

Family Fun at the Children’s Creative Learning Center at FIU
The Children’s Creative Learning Center at FIU held its 2011 Family Book Club in collaboration with the Campus Barnes & Noble Bookstore. Over 30 children and their parents attended this family event to promote early literacy. The children and families enjoyed reading “Bats in the Library” by Brian Lies. The reading included eating a “bat” style snack, creating their own flying bat and taking home a blank book to create their own story to share with their bat! Thanks to Krystal Jarrouge, the Barnes & Noble Bookstore trade manager, for her continued support and collaboration in making the Center’s Family Book Club a success.
