SAGA Days Coming Soon
The Student Affairs Graduate Association (SAGA) and the Division of Student Affairs is planning its annual Student Affairs Graduate Association visit days (SAGA Days), scheduled for March 10 – 12. SAGA Days is a three-day, on-campus interview and orientation session for students interested in pursuing a Higher Education Administration degree at FIU.
The Master of Science in Higher Education Administration program prepares graduates to serve in a variety of roles at colleges and universities and related institutions. The academic program is run as a partnership with FIU’s Division of Student Affairs and integrates class work with assistantships for a total learning experience. During SAGA Days, incoming graduate students are offered the unique opportunity to apply and interview for potential graduate assistantships at both the Modesto Maidique and Biscayne Bay campuses.
The Division of Student Affairs and other University offices throughout FIU offer assistantships for students in the Higher Education Administration program through a number of departments, such as Campus Life, Career Services, The Center for Leadership and Service, Housing and Residential Life, and The Office of Orientation and Commuter Student Services. These assistantships offer students practical experiences that closely relate to their coursework. Graduate assistantships require students to work 20 hours per week and offer a stipend and 80% tuition waiver.
