Committee Volunteers Needed!
Are you interested in getting more involved in the Division? We are looking for new members to join the Student Affairs Staff Development Committee and the Student Affairs Day/Awards Planning Committee! A&P Staff, USPS Staff, and Graduate Assistants are needed.

The committee meets every two weeks for one hour. Most meetings are held at MMC, but BBC members always have the option to phone in. All members assume additional responsibilities for programs or initiatives, which may require some work outside of the committee meetings.
Student Affairs Day/Award Planning Committee
Student Affairs Day, an annual celebration, is typically held at BBC in early October, and consists of our Vice President’s State of the Division Address and our awards process.
The committee will begin meeting during the summer and meet approximately every two weeks until the scheduled event in the fall. All members assume additional responsibilities for some aspect of planning the division-wide program and for awards review, which may require some work outside of the committee meetings.
If you are interested in being considered for appointment to one or either committee, please send an email to Cathy Akens at akensc@fiu.edu, with your name, department, position, contact information and the name of your supervisor. Please provide a 1-2 paragraph response explaining your interest in joining a committee. Be sure to indicate which committee you are interested in being considered for.
The deadline to apply is Friday, April 27. Prior to applying for this opportunity, please discuss your interest with your supervisor to ensure that you will have support to assume these additional responsibilities. Committee appointments will be made in early May.
