Annual Student Leadership Awards Banquet held at Biscayne Bay Campus

BBC’s Annual Student Leadership Awards Banquet was held on April 18th at the Biscayne Bay Campus. The evening was hosted by The Banquet Committee, whose members included, Ivy Siegel, Sarah David-Williams, Rebekah James, Yselande Pierre, Larissa Adames, Robert Sandoval, Andres Bermeo and Rafael Zapata. This banquet is held to honor all of the councils throughout the year for their hard work and dedication. The event was funded by the Student Government Association.

The event’s theme was created from the TV series, “Once Upon a Time” Guests were greeted by a magical living table lady and given a purple or gold color swag bag of treats. The awards were presented on a stage transformed into a castle with fairies and colorful lights.

Student Government Association, Student Programming Council, Student Government Association and Student Alumni Association presented their awards for the year. The winners for the Mary Pankowski Award (Student Leaders of the Year) were Catherine Vega and Emilio Collyer. The Unsung Hero Awards went to Mais Kayyali and Kaytien Franco. The Student Government Association presented their High Achievers Awards to Fang Shu, Pablo Haspel, Juliana Goncalves, Vinson Pressley, Emmanuel Okwor and Professor Mark D’Alessandron. The recipient of the Dr. Raul Moncarz Award was presented to Greg Olsen, Senior Director of the Wolfe University Center.
