Chief Bill King and Sherry Aaron, Director of Victim Advocacy Center, presented at the annual Florida State Victim Assistance Academy in Delray Beach on July 28.  Christine Mouton of University of Central Florida's Victim Services moderated and Karen Thomas from the State of Virginia's Victim/Witness program shared lessons learned from her involvement in responding to the Virginia Tech tragedy.  

The topic was Campus Victim Services, and the panel addressed coordination of campus and community responses to violence. Attendees participated in identifying their own community's response given various scenarios, and had the opportunity to identify stakeholders from their various campus and community environments in order to broaden coordination efforts in their jurisdictions.
