Dr. Rosa Jones Shows Appreciation To Staff
The Division of Student Affairs held three staff appreciation luncheons during the month of June. At these events, Vice President Dr. Rosa Jones welcomed guests and commended staff on a job well done. Dr. Jones noted that due to Increased enrollment numbers, the summer semester is a very busy time for the Division, and she urged everyone to look forward enthusiastically to an exciting year ahead.
Staff participated in an exciting and informative FIU Jeopardy game, followed by a very well received and interesting presentation by Camila Pham and Mariela Gabaroni from the University Wellness Center on the subject of De-Stressing Your Life-Your Alternatives.
Many enjoyed some free time to mingle and participated in a friendly dance competition, courtesy of Game Stop.
One of these events featured faculty member, Dr. Stephen Fain, who spoke about the influence of Student Affairs on students' overall academic and personal success. At this event, Dr. Jones updated everyone present on the Division's goals and how these complement and fit in with the University's Worlds Ahead vision.
Student Affairs also hosted an appreciation luncheon for the Division's student assistants, where Dr. Jones presented an informative overview of Student Affairs, its departments and their areas of responsibilities.
At all three events, everyone had a chance to win some nice door prizes from various campus vendors, including Santi's Salon, Aramark Food Services, GC PantherCarts, as well as items graciously donated by SGA, Career Services and Campus Life.
