As part of a regular feature, one department in Student Affairs will be in the spotlight each month. This month we spotlight University Health Services at the Modesto Maidique Campus.

University Health Services

OUR MISSION
Our mission is to provide access to quality health care to the University community and to encourage healthy lifestyles through health promotion, education, mentorship and research. The clinical and health educational services complement the academic mission of the institution by working with University faculty, departments, and community agencies to expand access to health-related resources. We strive to be proactive based on the changing needs of our community.

ABOUT US
University Health Services is composed of different service units that work together to help maximize the well-being of our student population.

Working closely with Admissions, Registration, and International Scholars and Student Services, is our Health Compliance unit which verifies that registering students fulfill their immunization and international health insurance requirements, as applicable.

The General Medical Clinic and the Women’s Health Clinic provide quality, cost-effective, confidential, and professional primary medical care services to registered students for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease and injury.

The Wellness Center provides a variety of health promotion programs and services to encourage healthy lifestyle choices and to enable all members of the FIU community to achieve their optimal wellness potential. In addition, alternative therapies such as massage therapy and acupuncture are offered to students, faculty, and staff.

Affordable prescriptions and over-the-counter medications are available for purchase at our Pharmacy, which is conveniently located within our facility.
