The Gala hosted approximately 250 residents and their faculty guests. “We have a lot of residents who take classes very seriously and earn great grades and the night is for them!” said Corazon Rodriguez, of The National Residence Hall Honorary.  The evening’s program included individual recognition for all students in attendance, dinner, and an address by Dr. Lesley Northup, Dean of FIU’s Honors College.  Dean Northup shared her life’s journey to her current role, and challenged students to persist toward their goals when doors may seem to be shut to them.
