Staff and Students Participate in NASPA Drive-in Conference
The 2011 NASPA-Florida Drive-In Conference was held October 6-7 at the University of Tampa. Staff and graduate students in attendance participated in educational sessions and networking with colleagues from around Florida. Graduate students from the Higher Education program entered the annual case study competition, and represented FIU well. Congratulations to team members Jessica Greenwood, Ashley Gomez, and Eve Infante.
FIU undergraduate students boarded a bus and headed to Tampa the following day, for the NASPA-Florida Undergraduate Symposium. This first-time event was designed to educate students throughout the state about careers in Student Affairs. They attended sessions about applying to graduate schools, career paths in Student Affairs, and met with representatives from the Higher Education graduate programs in Florida. FIU’s Higher Education program was able to recruit a number of interested students as a result of the Symposium.
