Memo from Dr. Jones: Competency Model Deadline October 29

Dear Student Affairs Team,

In an ongoing effort to be intentional about professional development for our staff so we can continue to be “World’s Ahead”, the Student Affairs Professional Competency Model is now being fully implemented, following its pilot last year. The development of this model was initiated by our colleagues on the Student Affairs Staff Development Committee and provides the tools necessary for each staff member to work with his/her supervisor and empower themselves to create ways to further their professional skills. Utilizing evaluative feedback received during the pilot last year, training sessions have been developed to help you fully understand the process and understand modifications that have been in model.

All A&P and graduate staff will need to be trained and have completed their initial assessments by October 29, 2010. To schedule a training session for your Department, please contact Korrin Stanek (stanekk@fiu.edu).
