Staff Spotlight

This past fall, Adam Schwarz was recognized with one of the Division’s Distinguished Performance Awards for Team Player. The Team Player Award is designed to recognize an individual or group who works exceptionally well with others, both within the department and throughout the FIU community.

This individual or group possesses a willingness to collaborate and tends to be more concerned about getting the job accomplished rather than receiving the credit. Adam previously served as a Residence Life Coordinator in the Department of Housing and Residential Life (managing Lakeview Hall), and is now a coordinator in the office of Residential Life. Last fall, Adam volunteered to solve a staffing shortage by taking on the leadership role of supervising two buildings simultaneously.

Imagine doing everything your position entails times two for an entire year, supervising, in Adam’s case, twice the staff, twice the programs, AND working with the 825 students of the Lakeview Community. Adam made countless scarifies both personally and professionally, but always ensured that he gave his time to the students.
