Staff Spotlight

This past fall, Sarah Clegg-Crawford was recognized with one of the Division’s Distinguished Performance Awards for New Employee.

The New Employee Award is designed to recognize an individual who began working at FIU on or after June 1 of the previous year. Since then, this individual has had a significant impact at the University and in the Division.

Since joining the Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution staff, Sarah has promoted teamwork and has always provided support to all of the members of that office. Sarah is a member of the Staff Development committee and has also assisted with the Civility Initiative, and participated in the Women’s Center Mentoring Program.

One nominator wrote about Sarah, “Since she started working at FIU, Sarah has demonstrated a very real spirit of positivity, inclusiveness, and concern for all, staff and students.”

Another colleague commented, “On a personal level, Sarah always offers a listening ear to each member of our staff. She fosters a comfortable, welcoming environment for all those who enter the office.”
