Lauren Hubacheck-Butler
October 2010
This past year, Lauren Hubacheck-Butler was recognized with one of the Division’s Distinguished Performance Awards for Customer Service.
The Team Player Award recognizes an individual or group who works exceptionally well with others, both within the department and throughout the FIU community. This individual or group possesses a willingness to collaborate and tends to be more concerned about getting the job accomplished rather than receiving the credit.
Lauren serves the FIU community as a Coordinator for Career Services. Lauren has been involved in numerous departmental and university wide committees including the Student Affairs Day Committee, MLK Day Committee, the Holiday Party Planning Committee, and the Staff Development Committee. Lauren is known as a contributor and a collaborator.
While working outside her assigned responsibilities, Lauren served on the Women Who Lead Committee. She handled many aspects of the event and helped to create a team atmosphere among group members. She went to each meeting with a creative problem solving perspective and challenged each member to consider potential issues so that the conference on both campuses would run seamlessly from the participants’ perspective. Lauren also serves as a leader within her office and puts her all into departmental-wide programs. Her team player attitude within the Division has proven beneficial to Career Services by opening doors for collaboration.
To quote her nominator, “I have had the pleasure of working with Lauren for 3 years, and to me, she is the consummate team player and exemplary joy of FIU and our division.”
We are proud to have Lauren Hubacheck-Butler as a member of The Student Affairs team!
