Amanda Niguidula
This past year, Amanda Niguidula was recognized with one of the Division’s Distinguished Performance Awards for Leadership.
Leadership Award
The Leadership Award recognizes an individual, who challenges students and other staff members to achieve excellence and motivates and sets the example of excellence for others to follow. This individual is successful in moving a team toward goals that are consistent with the vision of a department, group, committee, or university organization.
Amanda serves FIU as the Director of the Disability Resource Center and has been a contributing member of our Division for more than 10 years. Amanda’s staff believes she embodies the true heart of a leader and that her leadership leaves everyone feeling that the work they do makes a difference to the overall success of the organization. Amanda’s nominator wrote, “Amanda understands that leadership extends beyond that of simply leading people; it is also a responsibility to protect the fundamental purpose and philosophy of the organization.” Amanda has been an advocate for her team, and for students with disabilities. She is out in the university community working with other departments to ensure that our students are well served. This past year, Amanda also took leadership in the University’s efforts to better serve our Veterans.
We are proud to have Amanda Niguidula as part of our team in the Division of Student Affairs. |
