Ruth Hamilton

This past October, Ruth Hamilton was recognized with one of the Division’s Distinguished Performance Awards for Leadership.

The Leadership Award recognizes an individual, who challenges students and other staff members to achieve excellence and motivates and sets the example of excellence for others to follow.  This individual is successful in moving a team toward goals that are consistent with the vision of a department, group, committee, or university organization.

Ruth is the Executive Director of the Graham Center at University Park Campus.  She has been with the University for 29 years.  Her nominators used words like leadership, dedication, motivation, mentor, joyous, and many others to describe Ruth’s commitment to GC and the University at large.  This past year, Ruth has led her staff through many accomplishments including the reorganization of  The  GC staff, the creation of a new GC website, securing new technology equipment and the implementation of  the Student Management Program and a leadership development series.  In order to respond to the budget crisis the University faces, Ruth sought out new revenue generating partnerships.  Everyone notices the passion Ruth shows for her staff and students.
