Bobby Borgmann / September 2012

The Student Affairs New Employee Award recognizes an individual who began working at FIU on or after June 1 of the previous year. Since then, this individual has had a significant impact at the University and in the Division. Bobby Borgmann of Campus Life, was a recipient of this award last fall.
Bobby Borgmann has served as the Campus Life Coordinator and has helped students plan numerous events since September 2010, including small events in the Pit and major events like a spring concert with over 4.000 students attending. He has taken the Student Programming Council to new heights.
SPC is viewed as the “gold standard” by other student groups and organizations. In addition, Bobby positively impacts the students he advises and serves as their mentor and role model, encouraging them to pursue a career in the field of Student Affairs. His long hours in the office and work ethic create successful programs and events for students.
His nominator last year stated: “Mr. Borgmann is a talented and driven professional. While he is new to this position, his impact has been nothing short of phenomenal. “
