Staff Spotlight
This past fall, Warren Shaw was recognized with one of the Division’s Distinguished Performance Awards for Leadership.
The Leadership Award is designed to recognize an individual, who challenges students and other staff members to achieve excellence and motivates and sets the example of excellence for others to follow. This individual is successful in moving a team toward goals that are consistent with the vision of a department, group, committee, or university organization.
Warren Shaw has been working as the Assistant Director of Campus Recreation for the past four years on the Biscayne Bay Campus. He is responsible for the operations of the fitness center, many of their programs and group exercises classes, and supervises a large number of students who are employed at the Center. Warren has taken the lead on several projects within Campus Recreation, including the very successful Rec Expo, which brought together the community, students, faculty and staff.
Warren has shown great leadership skills by communicating clear directives and opportunities for collaboration and innovation. One of Warren’s nominators said, “Warren leads by example and facilitates project objectives and expected outcomes with ease, allowing others to collaborate and take initiative on new programs while maintaining a close enough role to allow for needed feedback and clarification.” Warren’s leadership has helped to enhance the quality of programs and services offered through Recreation at BBC
We are proud to have Warren Shaw as a member of The Student Affairs team! |
