Korrin Stanek

This past October, Korrin Stanek was recognized with one of the Division’s Distinguished Performance Awards for Student Advisor of the Year.

Korrin Stanek serves as the Coordinator of Residential Life, a role she’s assumed since 2005. Korrin is a graduate of Millikin University in Illinois, and earned her Masters’ Degree in Educational Leadership, with a Concentration in Student Affairs Administration, from Florida International University. Korrin has had a direct impact on the success of students in all aspects of her role. As the advisor to the National Residence Hall Honorary at FIU, she has assisted with the leadership development of many FIU students and supported them in their planning of several campus-wide events.

Korrin’s accomplishments were recognized at the regional level, as she currently serves as the NRHH advisor to the South Atlantic Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls.

As the supervisor of the “A-Team”, a group of peer tutors in the residence halls, Korrin leads a dedicated student staff who support fellow students’ academic goals in the residence halls. Korrin’s tireless efforts have led to the expansion of the tutoring services and the success of the Academic Resource Center in Lakeview Hall. Korrin has also been instrumental in the success of many departmental programs such as the Dean’s List Gala and Brain Bucks. Korrin is known by her colleagues as a student advocate, and a caring and competent professional. The student population has been positively impacted from the hard work and dedication of Korrin Stanek.
