This past month, Marc Ebelhar was recognized with one of the Division’s Distinguished Performance Awards for Bright Idea.

Bright Idea Award
The Bright Idea Award is designed to recognize an individual or group who has, in the past year, created an innovative program or service consistent with the mission and values of Student Affairs. The new program or service should be one that improves efficiency, customer service, and/or significantly enhances accomplishment of the Division goals.
Marc serves as the Residence Life Coordinator for Everglades Hall. During the Spring semester, Marc was asked to do an evaluation of the residence hall front desk operations. As a result, Marc developed a very comprehensive analysis and plan for the residence hall front desk system, which detailed a model to develop the Desk Assistant position to one that will achieve President Rosenberg’s vision of Student-Centered Excellence. Marc outlined the relationship between the training, accountability, and the organization and proposed developments within each component to enhance the overall front desk operation. Marc provided direction to the department to help transform the front desks into more secure, safe, service-oriented operations.
One of Marc’s colleagues said “Marc has utilized his strengths and resources to develop a very comprehensive plan that will deepen our ability to meet student needs at the front desk. His focus on producing outcomes that create a student-centered experience is one of the many ways in which Marc really hit a homerun with the desk review.”
