LOCATION
· Sciences Po, the University also known as IEP (Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris), is located right in the heart of Paris, in the historic Saint-Germain-des-Prés/Quartier Latin neighborhood.
· Sciences-Po is an "urban campus" composed of seventeenth and eighteenth century mansions. In addition to the professional advantages this setting provides (near ministries, embassies, corporate headquarters, publishing houses…), its students are also exposed to the strong cultural flavor of the Saint-Germain district (cafés, art galleries, shops, cinemas, restaurants…)

THE UNIVERSITY
· Since its foundation in 1872, Sciences Po has been training the best students not only in France but also of Europe for leadership. At present, Sciences Po offers professional education ranging from undergraduate to doctoral level, and prepares its graduates to pursue their future careers in various paths such as international business, public administration and service sector, multilateral organizations and many other fields of endeavor. Sciences Po consists of 4 main components: academic and professional training, research, library, University Press.

· Teaching: Sciences Po carefully selects candidates for admission to each of its program. Among the 4,000 students enrolled each year, more than 800 come from abroad, from over 40 different countries. The bulk of courses, taught by both experts and professional teachers, are in a form of very small groups, allowing for individualized supervision of students and interaction. Comparative and cross-disciplinary vantage points are central to a curriculum which is based on the study of history, economics, law, sociology and political science. This background will lead some students to take up careers in research and teaching, after doctoral studies.

· Research: Sciences Po runs 8 research centers which provide a framework of some 200 researchers in politics, economics, sociology and history (CEVIPOF, CERI, OIP, OFCE, SEAE/GEM, OSC, CSO, CHEVS). Research accounts for 20% of the annual budget of Sciences Po.

· Library: With the Center for Contemporary Documentation, the Library is the largest in continental Europe for humanities-related documentation with a collection of 800 000 books, 6 000 periodicals and 15 500 press files.

· University Press: The Presses de Sciences Po, which maintain a backlist of 750 titles, publish some 30 new works each year along with 6 research magazines including Critique Internationale, Revue française de Science Politique and Revue Economique.
