My experience with computers
began in 1984, when one of my responsibilities was to teach SPSSX to graduate and doctoral
students. Since then I have had a diverse range of computer related experiences, including
the following;
- Have taught several computer related courses, such as:
- Introduction to Educational Technology (Spring 1998, Florida International University,
Miami, Florida).
- Computers in the Clasroom (Fall 1997, Florida International University, Miami, Florida).
- Instructional Programming in LOGO (Summer 1997, Rowan University, Glassboro, New
Jersey).
- Computer Applications in the Social Sciences (Spring 1998, Tuskegee University,
Tuskegee, Alabama).
- When appropriate to do so, I integrate technologies such as computers, CD-ROMs,
discussion lists, e-mail, interactive videodisks, the Internet, and the World Wide Web
(WWW) into courses that I teach.
- Currently serving as the Webmaster for the College of Education (Florida International
University) Web site.
- Served as a member of the Florida International University "Technology
Committee" (AY 1997-1998).
- Chaired the College of Education (Florida International University) "Technology
Committee" (AY 1997-1998).
- Served as a member of the "Life in a Technological Society" Task Force (Rowan
University, AY 1995-1996).
- Established and managed SMEDLIST, an electronic discussion list, for use by students in
a course that I taught in the College of Education at Rowan University (AY 1995-1996, AY
1996-1997).
- Established and managed STEPLIST, an electronic discussion list, for use by students in
a course that I taught in the School of Education at Indiana University - Purdue
University Fort Wayne (IPFW) (AY 1993-1994, AY 1994-1995)
- Established and maintained an electronic bulletin board for use by teachers in several
schools in the Phoenix Metropolitan area.
- Managed an IBM PC laboratory and negotiated the purchase of equipment to establish a
Macintosh laboratory while I was employed at Tuskegee University, in Tuskegee, Alabama.
