6.0 Web Browsers | The Favorites Menu
Favorites Menu
The
"Favorites" pulldown menu for the Windows version of Explorer
6.0 contains links that have been stored by the user. In some other
browsers such stored links are called "bookmarks". A sample Favorites
pulldown menu is shown in the following figure.
Add To
Favorites adds the URL of the presently displayed document to the
favorites list. A window like that shown below opens to allow you either to
choose the name of an existing folder in which to place the URL or gives you
the chance to create a new folder for the URL.
Organize Favorites:
To organize your favorite pages into folders
As your
list of favorite pages grows, you can keep it organized by creating folders.
You might want to organize your pages by topic. For example, you could create a
folder named Art for storing information about art exhibits and reviews.
- On the Favorites
menu, click Organize Favorites.
- Click Create
Folder, type a name for the folder, and then press ENTER.
- Drag the shortcuts
(or folders) in the list to the appropriate folders.
If the number of shortcuts or folders makes dragging
impractical, you can use the Move to Folder button instead.
