NORTH
MIAMI ADULT EDUCATION CENTER, 800 NE 137th Street, Miami, FL 33161

DESCRIPTION: This agency provides adults with the opportunity to enhance
their skills and abilities for career advancement and maintaining or obtaining
a job.
OPPORTUNITIES: Tutoring English for non-speakers, adult mathematics, and
writing skills. Beginning computer skills are always needed. Students
with experience in desktop publishing or printing are also needed for
the printing program.
HOURS NEEDED: Monday-Thursday, 3pm-9:30 pm (Friday is the best day to
meet between the hours of 9am-5pm).
COMMENTS: Call Mrs. Lamb to arrange a meeting/orientation. She will give
an overview of the school and give you an assignment depending on your
interests and schedule. She really needs your help and looks forward to
working with M-DCC students!
NORTH
MIAMI FOUNDATION FOR SENIOR CITIZENS, 620 NE 127th Street, N. Miami,

DESCRIPTION: Care management agency serving senior citizens in their own
home in the north Dade County area.
OPPORTUNITIES: Include, but not limited to, the arrangement of services
and monitoring of clients, friendly companionship visiting, chore services,
escort and telephone reassurance. Special project development available.
Student interests and needs taken into consideration for a positive learning
experience.
HOURS NEEDED: Flexible schedule.
COMMENTS: Please call to schedule appointment. Ms. Dioli-Kumm is an outstanding
supervisor who will ensure that you have an excellent experience.
THE NURSING

DESCRIPTION: This agency is a nursing home/rehab center. It houses approximately
120 residents.
OPPORTUNITIES: Volunteers can learn about the elderly, help with rehabilitation
and activities.
HOURS NEEDED: Everyday. Scheduling is flexible.
COMMENTS: Call Ms. Valdez- Almaguer to schedule an appointment/orientation.
