Important Notes:

(1) Your final grade is determined by your total score, nothing else, and cannot be altered for any reason.

(2) The two lowest scores of your quizzes will be dropped. There will be no make-up quizzes.

(3) You will have at least 7 days notice for an upcoming test or quiz. There will be no make-up tests. If you have a genuine emergency, you are expected to phone or email in advance, if possible (but no later than the day after the test); be prepared to document your written excuse (hospital bill and doctor's note, traffic tickets, etc.).  If you are excused from a test, that percentage of your grade will be made up on the final. This policy applies to at most one test. Once you have started taking a test or quiz, you cannot be excused from that test or quiz.

(4) You will not be permitted to use calculators and formula sheets during tests and exams.

(5) The date and time of the final exam are firm (see the university’s final exam schedule). The final exam must be taken to earn a passing grade for the course.

(6) Please avoid coming in late or leaving class early as such behavior is disruptive and hence inappropriate. If you miss an entire class, get notes and homework assignments from a classmate.

Incomplete Grade Policy: IN grade is to be given only under the condition that the student has substantially completed (with a passing grade) most of the course but is unable to take the final exam because of circumstances beyond his/her control. An incomplete grade is not a substitute for a failing grade. The student will have to remove the IN grade no later than the third week of the subsequent semester.

DR Grade: The deadline to drop the course with a DR grade is October 16, Friday. To drop the course, you need to do it yourself in the registration office before the deadline. If you simply stop coming to class, you will receive an F grade.

Policy on cheating: Any attempt of cheating on a test or a quiz will result in an F and further administrative action might be taken.
